Hello all! Our concert and block party at McKenzie Court went really well. We served about 160 hamburgers and 210 hotdogs. That’s a lot of food people! We played carnival games, jumped around in inflatables, and even started a game of backyard baseball with the kids. The kids had fun singing and dancing with the choir during the performance. Some crowd favorites were “Lean On Me”, “Car Wash” and “Total Eclipse”.
The people of McKenzie Court were a blessing for us to serve. One person in particular stood out among the rest, Ms. Janette. She recently moved to McKenzie Court with the help of Hope Families at Calvary after her home was destroyed in the April 27th tornado in the Rosedale community. She expressed her thanks and appreciation for the love and support she had received from Calvary saying, “I’m so thankful for Calvary and all they’ve done for me. I hope to be a blessing to others in the future because of what they’ve done for me. Be looking for me at Calvary soon. I’ll be there.” Ms. Janette said that on the day of the tornado she felt like the Lord was telling her to move to her closet. Her closet was one of the only parts of her house not destroyed. Now she tells everyone, “If you don’t know Jesus, then get to know Him”.
Due to technical difficulties, the pictures could not be posted tonight! Sorry! Please look for them tomorrow :)
